Mr. David J. Scoggins
July 8, 1972 – February 3, 2018
Mr. David J. Scoggins, age 45, of Griffin, GA passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Spalding Regional Hospital surrounded by his family.
Mr. Scoggins was born on July 8, 1972, in Griffin, GA. He was a member of Neal Baptist Church in Concord, GA where he played the piano and served as director of music. He had a passion for playing and singing music, throughout his life he mastered playing 52 instruments. He also enjoyed trips to six flags, Halloween, cooking and having his special coffee with his sister-in-law. He attended Le Cordon Bleu and was also a licensed massage therapist.
Survivors include his, daughter and her fiancé, Krystian Scoggins and Austin Kingsbury; mother and step-father, Kathy and Wes Walden; father, Virgil J. Scoggins; brother and sister-in-law, Brent and DeAnna Scoggins; sister, Mandi Pinkston; nephews, Dalton Scoggins and Luke Scoggins; niece, Kristian Crews; lifelong friend, Mark Gilstrap; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. David J. Scoggins will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Pastor Clarence Burton will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Monday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
