Mr. Donald Edward Chambers

Mr. Donald Edward Chambers, age 84, of Griffin, GA, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at his residence in Griffin.
Mr. Chambers was born on November 14, 1934 in Griffin, GA, to the late Charlie H. Chambers and the late Essie G. Chambers. He was a past Master of Griffin Masonic Lodge 413, a past member of the Yaarab Shriner’s Organization and a longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Griffin. He was very involved in youth recreational baseball for many years in Griffin and was a veteran of the US Army. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Chambers.
Mr. Chambers is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Christopher Chambers, and Robin and Amie Chambers; grandchildren, Jonathan Chambers, Cambrie Chambers, Emily Chambers, Maggie Chambers, Madison Chambers, and Cody Chambers; great-granddaughter, Phoebe Chambers; brother, Jerry Chambers; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Donald Edward Chambers will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Rev. John Nance will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
