Mr. James Clay “Waldo” Cordle
June 23 1970 – November 1, 2017

Mr. James Clay “Waldo” Cordle age 47, of Barnesville, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Atlanta Medical Center.

Mr. Cordle was born on June 23, 1970 in Atlanta. He attended Gainesville High School where he was active in the marching band and continued his love for music and percussion instruments throughout his life. He went on to become a Firefighter/EMT Paramedic and worked for Henry and Butts counties during his career. He also received a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Associate’s degree in Political Science. He loved football and was a huge Florida Gator fan and his favorite pastime was being on armchair quarterback during college football games. He was also a play by play commentator for the Gordon State Highlanders in Barnesville. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Clay Cordle.

Mr. Cordle is survived by his wife of 20 plus years, Shelley Cordle; daughter, Anna Louise Cordle; and son, James Henry Cordle.

A memorial service for Mr. James Clay “Waldo” Cordle will be held on Sunday, November 19, 20170 at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Springs Congregational Methodist Church in Milner. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate.
