Mr. Lawrence Edward Terry
November 17, 1940 – March 3, 2018

Mr. Lawrence Edward Terry, age 77, of Griffin, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. Terry was born in Knoxville, TN, on November 17, 1940, to the late Vernon and Norine Terry. He is also preceded in death by his sister Annette Terry, brother Virgil Ray Terry, infant son Douglas Edward Terry, and daughter-in-law Debbie Terry.

Mr. Terry graduated from Carter High School in Knoxville, TN in 1958. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and actively attended Oak Hill Baptist Church. Lawrence retired from the Teamsters Union Local 728 in 2004, and has since enjoyed fishing, golfing, cutting trees, and spending time with family. He was a member of the Cabin Creek Golf Course, where he had two hole-in-ones on hole #4 and one on hole #17.

Mr. Terry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna Belle Terry; sisters, Jean (Clifford) Loveday, and Kathy (Frank) Albert; brother, Phillip (Gail) Terry; sisters-in-law, Vera Beckner, Patsy Callahan, and Peggy Thacker; brothers-in-law, Robert C. (Sheryl) Howard, and Randy (Mary) Howard; sons, Scott (Kathy) Terry, David Terry, Steven Terry, and Jason (Angel) Terry; grandchildren, Morgan (Levi) Russell, Amber Terry, Shaunta Terry, Steven (Destiny) Terry, Jr., Nolan Terry, Larissa Terry, and Nathan Terry; great-grandchildren, Annalea Russell, Amelia Russell, Andrew Lineberry, Steven Terry III, Iveelyn Terry and Ryeelyn Terry; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Lawrence Edward Terry will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 6:30 pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Reverend Tim Conort and Reverend Stephen Dervan will officiate. A memorial service will be held at Marbledale Baptist Church and a graveside service at Asbury Cemetery in Knoxville, TN at a later date. Friends may visit the family from 4:00 pm until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
