Mr. Phillip Charles Colwell, Sr., age 69, of Griffin, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough.
Mr. Colwell was born on December 5, 1949 in Thomaston, GA, to the late Charles Austin Colwell, Sr. and the late Christine Cash Colwell. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dixie Colwell Echols; and brothers, Charlie Colwell and Joe Colwell.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Colwell; daughters, Christy Duncan, Regina Haynes, Laurie Beth Carson, Candye Ponczoch, Tammy Edmonds, Brenda Wood and Michelle Ponder; sons, Chris Colwell, Timothy Colwell, Phillip Colwell, Jr., Chris Lewis, Jason Lewis, and Larry Lewis; 38 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Connie Colwell and Stacie Colwell; and brother, Randy Colwell.
A memorial service for Mr. Phillip Charles Colwell, Sr. will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Reverend Lisa Landrum will officiate. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
