Mr. Simon L. Barrett

Mr. Simon Barrett, age 76, of Griffin, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Barrett was born in Zebulon, Georgia on August 23, 1941, to the late Corris Barrett and late Gertrude Fisher Barrett. Mr. Barrett was a wrecker driver at Coates Foreign Cars for 18 years. He began serving the Lord at an early age. He served as a Deacon at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and later moved his membership to Shield of Faith Christian Center where he served as a Deacon until his health failed.

Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his son, Simon Lee Barret, Jr.; his sister, Mary Lane; his brother Walter Barrett; and two grandsons, Alexander Arvelo and Derrius Shaw.

Mr. Simon Barrett leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Sally Barrett; six daughters, Patricia (Rodney) Stokes, Ethel (Ulysses) Pittman, Deborah (Steve) Sullivan, Angela (Al) Clemons, Shirley (George) Brooks, LaSonya (Ronald) Davis, and Suprina (Dwyane) Russell; two sons, James (Katina) Redding and Harvey Barrett; 28 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Hollis; five brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, Nathaniel (Geraldine) Redding, Raymond (Linda) Redding, Patricia Redding, Elizabeth Redding, and Eula Redding; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
